Artist and Author Match-ups!

The mods have made the match-ups for artists and authors! If you are an author who both signed up AND sent in your progress report, or an artist who signed up, please look for an e-mail in your inbox no later than Monday evening! If you do not receive such an e-mail, please comment here to let us know and we will try to track it down!

If you are an author who signed up, but failed to send in a progress report, then you were not assigned an artist. You may, if you choose, still submit a story, but you will be responsible for finding your own artist or let your story be posted without an illustration.

Hi, this is me, Citrine. I signed up, but I haven't got an email, even in my spam folder. Did my author sign-up get eaten by the internet? :-(

*whew* You gave me a scarey moment there! I was afraid we had an author I'd missed, LOL!

Yes, I have your artist sign-up, and emails will probably be going out for artists in the morning! If you don't have one by tomorrow evening, please let me know!

Thanks! Didn't mean to jumpstart your heart there.

And now I'm going to go a little wiggy with excitement and jump up and down:-D

Hi! I'm an artist who hasn't heard anything either. No rush--just wanted to make sure you didn't forget me. (-:

I love my author and am very excited about this. But could you please review the deadlines for those of us who are doing artwork? I need to make sure that I have these firmly in my memory before my very busy summer hits.

Art due: July 4 through July 8
Stories and art due in moderator’s queue: weekend of July 15
Stories and art revealed: on July 18

(There is the possibility some of these dates may get extensions, but nothing would be due any sooner.)

Excellent, that's very helpful. I also assume that somewhere you have a link telling me size of file, maximum pixels, etc? Just trying to make sure I have everything all together before I start on my preliminary work because I won't have a lot of time for re-do's.

I actually am forwarding an email to you from our tech-mod, dawn_felagund, and it should answer your questions, I hope!

Thank you, that was actually very helpful. I have entered my work into many venues where they are very strict about size, resolution, even the type(s) of cameras to be used. This is much looser and, I think, it will be much easier to get my image(s) uploaded for you.

Greetings, my artist has shown me some great stuff she has done for me in a bunch of wallpapers. How does this all work? (Please forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere already) Do I choose which pieces I want and tell her and she gives them to you or what? Le hannon for any help you can provide!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Here's what we put on the comm profile page:

There will be two options for posting [art]. In the first, you may upload your own art to a hosting site (e.g. Photobucket, Flickr, etc. ) and then send the author the code to embed within the story post. (In the event that any are inclined to make vids, we encourage the use of this first option.)

The second option is to send the art to the mods, and we will upload it to a hosting site and send the code to the author.

So check with your artist, and see which option she prefers. Then you will be able to paste the code into your story once you have it. If you need help with the posting, let us know and we will do our best to help you with your formatting.
